Thankfully my spirit guide, Frost Walrus from Mega Man X4, has agreed to help me illustrate the levels of cold one may experience whilst at JCasa. Right now, it's Extremely Cold. Mornings, typically it dips down to Cold as Balls. I think we may capitulate and turn the heat once it stays at Cold as Fuck for a day or more.

Baby, It's Cold Inside [Thermostatic Resistance]
JCasa has still not turned on the heat. Yeah, that's dedication, we know. Between the space heater, a couple of heated blankets, leeching heat from our neighbors, and thinking warm thoughts we've been able to make it by. Now it's starting to become a bit of a contest, to see who will be the first to break down and fire it up.

Odds and Ends: Autumnal Edition
Mmmm... Nothing like enjoying a Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Latte with a Pumpkin Cake Donut on a cool Fall day...
Only like ten hours left to voice your opinion on the best canine companion in videogames. Looks like Rush and Fable 2's dog are in a dead heat for the title. Please note: If the votes are equal at the end of polling period, the title will be awarded to Fran from Final Fantasy XII.
Swapped out the Mame PC's PSU with the new one... Same problem as before... Which leads me to believe it may be the mobo... Methinks a new computer may be in order. No one has an old PC of which they're trying to get rid, do they? Hit me if you do.
Tekken 6 should be arriving @ J Casa Tuesday, so unless there's something going on that night I'm forgetting about, hit me up and come on over if you want to try your Iron Fist before Lego and I start flexing our 1337ness.
And oh yeah, what is everybody doing for Halloween? No crazy Jcasa party, so I'm leaning towards Cypress Hill @ 9:30 Club. Anything else going down?
Word is bond. Peace.

Odds and Ends: Oktoberfest Edition
Still need to get a new power supply for the Mame cabinet computer. Obviously we'll need that operational for the big Tekken 6 release fightathon. What's that? You are interested in the next fighting game competition? Well hit me then. I'm thinking I'll sacrifice BlazBlue from the lineup in order to keep SFIV. Likely it'll be T6, SFIV, SCIV, SSBB, MvC2, and SFA3 as the big six. Tiebreak suggestions?
Big Sis Prinny and I wrapped up a casual afternoon by knocking out the rest of the levels in the XBLA release Bubble Bobble Neo. I believe I have mentioned before how fond I am of Bub and Bob, those irresistable bubble-spewing dragons. A lot of fun, but, man, that Level 72! >.<
And last night I was cajoled into participating in a little No Limit Hold'em tourney. I've probably only played four times in the last two years, a drastic comparison to, say, 2006, when teh crew played every night for months on end. The heads up showdown ended up as a battle of the douche bags, and as you well know, no one can out-douche Killa. Walked away with $100... (toward a PSPgo?!)

I Like It When You Call Me Big Daddy
Primarily videogame miscellania this time 'round. Sorry, but you've been getting some pretty diverse blogging, so, you know. Be happy with what you get.
I'm up over 9300 GP in SFIV Championship Network mode now. Spending a significant amount of time losing with Abel. Been trying to rotate Abel, Gief, and Rufus pretty steadily. Championship mode is double blind character select, so I can only base the choice on prior experience with whomever I am matched up. I'm trying to mold Abel into my go-to counter pick versus Ryu. Fucking <3 Ultra through Hadoken.
In the "'bout fucking time" category, I should mention I bought BioShock on Steam, a bargain at twenty bones. As far as I'm concerned, this game is creepier than any Resident Evil I've ever played. I should really stop playing this game whilst situated. Think I'm about done the Medical Pavillion; fighting my first Big Daddy now. Not going so well, but I am playing on Hard mode for my first playthrough.
Wish me luck.

Summer Vacay Vs. the Backlog
So, how's the battle panning out? Don't know if y'all ever check any of the links over there on the right but that Killa's Backloggery is a record of all the games I need to finish, in addition to providing a reference to what games I have beaten, if anyone ever needs to pick my brain about MGS3, for instance. I've updated it with what I have and have yet to accomplish.
Well, Prototype is done. Wham, bam, thank you Radical Entertainment.
Don't really know if I'm going to try to get back into GTAIV this week, but it's unlikely.
Didn't add Vanguard Princess to the list, but I have checked it out a bit more since the initial download. Really cool for a free game, but I've gotten a lot on my fighting plate as it is, though it would be a good excuse to try and use one of my sticks with the desktop.
Got back into Crysis. In case anyone sees my Gchat status change to "Killin' Koreans", this is the reason, though I think I'm about to hit the meat of the game, and may have to start killing more proportionate numbers of aliens and Koreans. (Never have gotten the graphics tweaked as well I thought they ought to be, in case anyone was still wondering.)
Some nice SFIV play earlier in the week. I'm up over 8500 GP now, though Legoman is still giving me a hard time. (Haven't really Blaz'd Blue at all this week...)
And, y'know, I didn't publicly update this either, but I played Digital Devil Saga for a couple hours the other night.
Ai'ight. Back to Crysis.

Pop Songs Rewritten for Fighting Game Relevance
In Miley Cyrus' single The Climb, in my own mind, I would hear the line
"Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose"
as
"Hitting dives like I'm Kindevu"
whenever I've been having a run of good fortune with Rufus in SFIV. His dives (aka Vulture Kicks) are a key component of his game, and the pinnacle of mastery is definitely Japan's Kindevu, the top ranked Rufus in the world, and the only fatty that has given Daigo's Ryu a run for his yen.
This alone really didn't merit a post, until I started hearing Gaga's Love Game reimagined to be about Blazblue's Ragna and his Distortion Drive Blood Kain.
"Doin' the Blood Kain."

Odds and Ends: Mah Mah Maahhh Edition
MÚSICA
Finally heard Gaga's acoustic Poker Face. Undoubtedly pretty cool. By the way, what a freaky bitch.
Also, re: The Fray's "You Found Me", there has been some discussion about the best part of the song. Some of you out there seem to favor the energetic:
COMBATIENTE DE LA CALLE CUATRO
In SFIV news, in a ranked match, I won a Zangief mirror match against a player that was ranked at over 4000 (over 4000?!) Battle Points. This gives me confidence that my superior Red Cyclone can continue to climb upwards. Btw, I'm ~2585 BP and 2000 GP(G2) at last check.
Also got in a good set of Player Matches against Whatyasay, an Akuma (and occassionally Guile) player with whom I have a friendly rivalry. Facing his Gouki is definitely helping out my get-in game. Found some uses for jump-in Forward Kick, especially coming in over a projectile at distance. I've also seen the necessity of using normals to zone; this is essential against worthwhile Abels, as nothing short of a well timed EX Banishing Flat can beat a well placed Wheel Kick besides, oh yeah!, standing jab spam.
On the non-competitive, completist side of things, I only have two more Normal Trials to complete before I clear out the lot of them and start picking through the much more difficult Hard Trials. Haven't been able to combo Fuerte's Fierce Punch with his Gordita Sobat. Gotta look that up...

And I've been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
Why'd you have to wait to find me, to find me?

Good One, Bob [Show Biz Humor]
Humorous exchange at work. Was chatting with my favorite lighting vendor about our current event with the notoriously nitpicky Opera.
KIL: | So, how'd you get roped into this gig? |
BOB: | The check cleared. |

My Day
Today is... not the greatest.
Passable, though.
An excerpt of early morning shit talking re: prospective SFIV with HC13's big bro.
I don't actually plan to use the Red Cyclone, though. Don't like the circular inputs with the online delay. Prolly The Boxer or Gouki. <3 Dash Straight -> Crazy Buffalo.
Composed a haiku from motivational speaking magnet words earlier. Can't recall the entire thing at the moment.. Will update later. Here's what I recall:
Blog natural, Wow!
Stage Skills, Ideas - _______________
_____________ Sought-after Now
Feeling almost feverish... Am I sick?
"Unh. Sicka than yo' average."
Ran into Talavera. Hate catching up with people. "How are you?" "You going back to school?" "Are you married?" "How is so-and-so?" "Salaried or hourly?" Always nice to see someone who thinks highly, but, so odd to see him. It's an Irish show tonight. Why would he be here? So random.
Bad day so far. Fresh socks help.
"Killa twist cabbage of Instinct."

HC13: | He asked which player you used...I told him Geif cuz that's what it said on KB... Is that right? He said Zangief suxx0rs and that he will school you with Ryu.
KIL: | Ryu... how bland...
HC13: | Talk shit, get hit.
KIL: | Oh, shit, it's on. |

Good One, Sir
My peerless leader really zinged me good yesterday.
Boss: Hey that's a nice sweater, [Killa].
KIL: I fucking know. This Izod, bitch.
Boss: Yeah, I think I have that same sweater at home, only in a men's size.
Damn...

Odds and Ends, Proto Edition
On top of what I have just stated in the last post, it's very hard to make progress on the Backloggery when I keep booting up Mega Man 9. Proto Man Mode has gotten significantly more daunting now that the realization has hit me that I need to beat all four Wily stages in one run without the aid of the Shop. The only plausible way of doing this is to start playing through, retaining every E-Tank I come across, stockpiling them until the final run through. I suppose I could forage through the stages I've already beaten, but practicing the Fortress run should make things go more smoothly.
Both polls have closed, and the people have spoken. A chick dressed as Old Snake with Raiden face camo can be hot, and in respect to the minority, yes, it is also pretty complicated. Also, I will retain my PS2 MvC2 copy in the face of an impending downloadable release, though that would have happened regardless of how you voted.
I went to a Dirtbox Radio broadcast on Sunday and saw the illustrious HeBe GB throw down a hot set, littered with some of my old faves. I'll be sure to post the link when the MP3 is available later this week. Of special note is (what I believe to be) the Loxy and Dylan remix of California Curse. I know I'll be rocking that in the S in the very near future. Catching the set did whet my appetite for the old habit, and GB has invited me to practice up and throw down a tag set at some point. An enticing offer I am sure I will take him up on sooner or later.

And after a dominant performance in my awesome absence, I return to AwkSi tonight for hopefully another win over ▲ Force. Four of my core players held it down last week so I could enjoy an extremely successful Happy Hour, so I owe it to them to pull out all the knowledge stops this time. We seem to have a pretty tight stranglehold on first place for our location, barring any trouncings in the coming weeks.
I think that's all. Oh yeah, save yourself $10 and don't see Saw V.
